My Creative Space

Well have I ever been busy this week-- not in the sewing way, but in the 'ahhh, I'm all out of very important things' ways, meaning visits to the op shop, the craft shop and Etsy. Eeeek. And I've also been watching TV a little bit with the Liberal Party tearing itself apart, I just couldn't resist-- but a statement like that does not belong in a post about creativity!

This is what I have been doing:

P1011105

Stuffing and finishing my little dollies-- I love these ones, I love overalls-- they are all from the Sasha pattern in the Dew Drop Girls Pattern which I just put in my shop, the one with grey overalls is Sasha-- she is exactly from the pattern. It's so weird to have an actual pattern to work from because other than the body outline, the head shape and the legs I just made it all up as I went along... making the pattern meant honing in on all those little shapes and deciding which ones I like best. I think I want to make some with jeans next!

I've also been screen printing onto paper as planned a very very long time ago:

And I'm finding that the different textures of the papers is just as exciting as the differences between fabrics...

But for now, I'm running very low on blinkies and tags! Feel free to help me by providing a name, 3 likes and 3 dislikes... I love these things, but it can get rather tedious at times-- I've managed to find myself a name book, if only there were a book of likes and dislikes!

Check over at Kirsty's for more spaces, although I think I may a little early right at the minute!

Happy Thursday!

Gorgeous, happy sweeties! Love them. Maybe you could enlist some help from children to come up with new likes and dislikes, and names. Kids usually love to help and are so imaginative xo

There is so much love and soul that you put into your artwork.

Great screenprinting. As for names - how about using the names of the month - January, February etc etc? Just a thought!

Love the overalls! For names, how about Heidi, Esther, Gwynnie, Ophelia, Suzannah, Minta, Tara. Just random names that popped into my mind rapid-fire. ;) Likes: mud puddles, lollipops, rain hats, fresh notebooks, lilacs, shoes with velcro, mashed potatoes, and music boxes. Dislikes: spiders, licorice, missing the bus, mustaches, and boys with black hair. Ha! How's that for random creativity? ;)

Your softies are really sweet - they have the most charming faces. To add to the other likes/dislikes .... Likes: dandelions, painting, fairy floss. Dislikes: muddy puddles, silverbeet, boys. (Sorry, that last one was totally influenced by the two yelling boy children in the background!).
If you have been enjoying the telly, you would have loved the doctors' waiting room I was in on Tuesday. A fight broke out amongst the patients when the new Opposition Leader was announced. I could barely tear myself away when I was called in to see the doctor!
