Eight weeks:

I had some vague idea of how hard this whole thing would be, but I never in a million years realised the amount of attention, love and very, very hard work that goes into all the human beings in the world! And I had no idea how much my priorities would change.

Elka was eight weeks old this morning, and whilst the pregnancy and the labour ran about as smoothly and painlessly as I could have hoped for, the baby has been another story. And doing it all with Joe at work from 3 days old, and Mum living so far away has been a real downer, thank goodness Joe has shortish hours and using airplanes isn't as expensive as it used to be.

8 weeks...

She is worth it though, and she has one kooky personality emerging. She is bright and alert, and playful and strong.

It is incredibly hard sometimes, but yes, more than worth it! The good news is, you've almost made it through the first three months, which can be the hardest part of the newborn phase. You're doing it! She's absolutely beautiful.
